Banda Magda

Like a distant shoreline, New York’s Banda Magda blurs distinctions and suggests wonders. Even if you don’t speak any of the 6 languages they sing in, you’re transported to the lands of the band’s diverse backgrounds; hailing from Greece, Japan, Argentina, USA, Colombia, Brazil, Turkey, Israel, UK

Led by firecracker performer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Magda Giannikou, Banda Magda is a bright vibrating community with bold strokes. Banda Magda’s debut album was named one of the year’s best world music album by NPR. With 3 albums and collaborations with Kronos Quartet, Snarky Puppy, Nu Deco Ensemble under their belt, Banda Magda’s upcoming album “Aurore” is about scattered loves and influences merging alongside Magda’s fancies towards the fantastic, walking away from genre and towards discovery.

Two Pints, Abbey Theatre.jpg

Two Pints, Abbey Theatre

After two sold-out tours in pubs across Ireland and the UK, Roddy Doyle’s ‘achingly, breathtakingly funny’ Two Pints heads to the US. As Director, Caitriona McLauglin says, ‘the play is utterly true to the banter you might hear between any two men in their 60s sitting in a pub,’ It’s colorful, humorous, and full of life. The characters talk about their Da’s, death, Nigella, North Korea, the afterlife, and more.

Ireland’s national theater, Abbey Theatre is inspired by Irish dramatic writing and the ideals of their revolutionary founders. In every endeavor, they are for Ireland and all its people, looking toward inclusivity and diversity. Therefore their productions imaginatively engage with their audiences, ambitiously and courageously.

What Will Have Been

Three artists stretch the boundaries of contemporary circus in What Will Have Been. Hauntingly beautiful and truly virtuosic, this new production is a sublime display of interlocking bodies, awe-inspiring movement and pure physical beauty. Accompanied on stage by a live violinist and fusing together the music of Bach and spine-tingling electronica.

Drawing their audiences deep into a world of physical daring, Circa is one of the world’s leading performance companies. From their base in Brisbane, Australia, Circa continues to blur lines, push boundaries, and pioneer extreme physicality.

Under the direction of circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz, Circa features an ensemble of exceptional, multi-skilled circus artists. A regular fixture at leading festivals, Circa has been seen in New York, London, Berlin and Montreal with seasons at Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Barbican Centre, Les Nuits de Fourvière, Chamäleon Theatre as well as major Australian Festivals.
